Zeppelin Universität (ZU) in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance is a state-recognized private university with BA, MA and doctoral programs in the fields of business, culture and politics. It is committed to interdisciplinarity, internationality and individuality in research and teaching.

We are currently looking to fill the following position, initially for one year (with the possibility of extension), at the Chair of Marketing (Pre-Doc: part-time 75%, Post-Doc: full-time 100%) as soon as possible.

Pre-Doc/Post-Doc at the Chair of Marketing

The Chair of Marketing has been held by Prof. Dr. Martin Paul Fritze since September 1, 2023. The focus of the chair is on empirical-quantitative consumer behavior research. Professor Fritze primarily works experimentally in the fields of consumer psychology, branding, and marketing management, but he pursues an interdisciplinary research approach both thematically and methodologically. A particular emphasis is placed on the transformative processes that mediate between digital and physical consumption and life worlds, as well as their effects on business models, consumers, and the environment.

Your tasks

  • Conducting research projects with the aim of publishing research results in top-tier international journals
  • Participation in teaching and research activities, such as supervising thesis work, conducting exercises or seminars, and assisting with data collection
  • Assisting with the organization, setup, and general administration of the chair

Your profile

  • Excellent academic qualifications (Post-Doc: Ph.D.), preferably in economics, psychology, or philosophy
  • Knowledge, and more importantly, a strong interest in the field of marketing, especially in the area of consumer behavior research
  • Experience in the application of quantitative methods and proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS)
  • Problem-solving skills, along with a high degree of self-motivation and self-organization.
  • An international orientation and very good English language skills
